WHAT IS A LIFESTYLE CAKE SMASH? {NORTH NEW JERSEY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER}

So you have determined that like me, you don’t like very posed photos. You like things a little more natural, and photos that focus on connection and feeling. Maybe you think that the idea of celebrating your little one’s first birthday with a cake smash is not for you.  I know I’ve always thought, “I don’t do cake smashes” “they aren’t my style”.      ….. but what if they could be my style??

What if it wasn’t about a perfect cake with stiff fondant, but more about your sweet little one’s reaction to her first bite of cake? Or about your connection when she tries to share it with you? And maybe it’s about the story of how your siblings devoured the cake in the parking lot after you were finished.

This little one’s Cake smash was an add on to a lifestyle family session, Mom made and brought the cake and balloons and it took about 15 minutes. Afterwards, she washed off with wipes and mom had a change of clothes ready. it was so simple but oh so adorable and sweet!

So I will now be offering Cake Smashes as an add on to an existing Lifestyle Family Photo Session. These can take place outside at a location we chose together. for now it will be Bring your own Cake, the simpler the better, as you see, I didn’t focus on the cake at all.

After COVID we can possibly also do this in your kitchen.  This is such a fun way to end a session and also was a great incentive for the kiddos during the family part of the session!
