a sweet fur baby welcomes his baby sister home | {westfield nj newborn photographer}

I always love to include your fur babies in newborn sessions. I will never forget how my dog Harley reacted when we brought our first born son, Oliver home. We had him in a little bassinet in the living room and she would sit underneath it and whimper, especially when he was crying. She’s such a special part of our family.

When I come into your home, I photograph your family the way that I would have wanted mine photographed. That includes your fur babies! I’m generally good with animals but you know your animals best. If you think yours may be aggressive, we don’t have to include them but 9 times out of 10, they are included. I can’t tell you how many times people have said that their dog is too hyper and won’t be good for photos and then we let them join and they are amazing. One time a family had their dog in a crate for most of the session and she was barking at me the whole time. towards the end, I said, “why don’t we just let her out and try?” Sure enough, when we let her out, she hopped up on the bed with the family and literally rolled over and posed for the camera. It was like she was saying, “let me out, I can do this, guys!”

Below is a recent session I did in Cranford NJ with this sweet family and their adorable dog. My favorite photos are the ones with the dog and the baby. I just think it’s so special when it works out and we can get them both in the frame.
