Lexi’s 100 days photoshoot {summit nj photographer}

I love that I am always learning new things. When Lexi’s parents reached out to me for a photoshoot, I had not heard of the 100 days tradition. I did a little research and learned that in Chinese culture, baby’s 100 days is a big milestone. It marks an end to the most vulnerable period for mom and baby and in some cases, an end of confinement. Also the 100 days celebration represents a wish that baby will live to be 100 years old and have a long life. Usually friends and family will get together for a big meal and will shower the baby with gifts.

when I arrived at this family’s home, they had just finished one party in the morning and were preparing for a 2nd party in the evening. I was so happy that they made the time to capture this very special time in the midst of the celebration. Lexi is incredibly blessed with parents and family that love her so much. This was one of those sessions that I left with a big smile on my face because they were just the most warm and loving family. Here are some of my favorites from their session.

This really is one of my favorite ages to capture. Babies between 3-4 months are still so snuggly with their parents but so much more expressive than they were as a newborn. Mom and dad are usually much more relaxed by this age as well :)
